Air Purifiers and Covid-19 (Coronavirus)
With the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, we get many questions about whether air purifiers help with the virus.
We would like to say to our carrier that our air purifiers do not cure COVID-19 unlike many rogue ads claim.
What we do know, on the other hand, is that HEPA filters filter viruses and bacteria and are used in operating rooms in hospitals.
HEPA filters can filter out at least 99.97% of airborne particles having a size of 0.3 microns (µm) in diameter. Particles of this size are the most difficult to filter, particles that are larger or smaller are filtered out even more.
Is the COVID-19 airborne?
According to the Swedish Public Health Authority, COVID-19 infects via direct contact and drip contamination. Now more and more researchers are becoming aware that COVID-19 is also transmitting via the exhaled air.
That the corona virus is airborne is confirmed by Sven Britton in the Malou program after ten on March 2, 2020.
"It is already clear that it is an airborne infection! The virus comes out with the respiratory air on the infected person. Maybe even before the infected person started coughing." Sven Britton says.
Sven Britton is a Swedish doctor who worked as a professor of infectious diseases at the Karolinska Institutet 1986–2006.
