Black mold in the attic

Common species of black mold are:

  • Stachybotrys
  • Aspergillus

It is therefore important to inspect your attic once a year after the growth of black mold. If you detect the black mold in time, it is relatively easy to fix the problem and prevent new growth.

How is your health affected by black mold?

Common symptoms of mold allergy are:
  • Headache

  • Bronchial problems
  • Watery eyes
  • Dry skin
  • Tiredness

How to remove mold in the attic?

You can remove black and white mold yourself by spraying a liquid, Mögel-Fri, which you can apply with a syringe.

  • You let the agent work and then scrub the affected surfaces properly.
  • With a UV lamp you can then check that all mold has been removed.
  • If there are still traces afterwards, the treatment is repeated.

What then?

After removing the mold, it is important to prevent new attacks. By plastering and sealing the wind properly and installing a dehumidifier, you prevent new mold attacks.

Install a desiccant dehumidifier

Just sealing the attic does not help and can even worsen the environment. By installing a dehumidifier you can maintain a healthy moisture content. Installing a dehumidifier is easy and if you have plastic and sealed the attic then you have done the worst job.
