What is an EPD?
An EPD is a standardised and independently verified environmental declaration for a product.
EPD stands for Environmental Product Declaration. It shows the quantified environmental impact of defined parts of a product’s life cycle and is based on a life cycle assessment, LCA.
Method, scope and results are reported openly, which makes the information easier to understand and use in, for example, climate calculations, design and procurement. The declaration is prepared according to established product and programme rules and is verified before publication.
